Benefits of Membership - Lead the Industry, Don't Follow

IHEA allows member companies to collectively provide input and direction to help lead the industrial heating market forward.  Rather than scrambling to react to industry and government codes and regulations; IHEA actively participates in their definition.  Examples of IHEA involvement include:

  • National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 86.
NFPA 86 defines safety regulations for industrial heating equipment. IHEA's Safety Standards and Codes Committee leads the way reviewing this document and driving changes to benefit its member companies and their customers.

  • European, Japanese and Global Industry Standards.
IHEA works closesly with its sister organizations in Europe (CECOF) and Japan (JIFMA) to better understand emerging standards around the world, including CE regulation and ISO. Through close cooperation, our organizations work to define standards to promote global competition while providing equipment that is safe and meets all local codes and regulations.

  • The Department of Energy (DOE) Partnership.
IHEA partners with the DOE to, among other things help monitor and influence U.S. energy policy, and keep IHEA member companies aware of the latest developments coming from the DOE that may affect how we conduct business.
