IHEA is offering its distance learning course, Fundamentals of Industrial Process Heating this Fall.  The on-line course offers you the opportunity to keep current with industrial process heating in the comfort and convenience of your own workplace or home.  The course is designed to give you the flexibility you need, with the interaction with an instructor and forums to communicate with other students in your class.  


Course Description:
 This course provides an overview of the fundamentals of heat transfer, fuels and combustion, energy use, furnace design, refractories, automatic control, and atmospheres as applied to industrial process heating.  Students will gain a basic understanding of heat transfer principles, fuels and combustion equipment, electric heating and instrumentation and control for efficient operation of furnaces and ovens in process heating.

Instructor:  IHEA brings industry expert Jack Marino to lead students in this 6-week online course. Jack is a registered Professional Engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the heat processing business. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and has a Master’s Degree in Engineering Science from Penn State. Jack began his career as a project engineer and worked his way to VP of Engineering and eventually became the owner and president of Denton Refractory Services Corp., a refractory contracting and furnace construction company. He also started Hauck Manufacturing’s Chinese company and served as President of Hauck Combustion (Nanjing). Marino holds 6 patents in combustion technology and is the author of numerous technical papers. He also led Hauck’s team in the development of "e-solutions for combustion” as well as a major contributor to many of the programs. Mr. Marino’s knowledge and experience offers invaluable resources that online students can access throughout the course.
