The Emerging Technology Applications Center (ETAC) is an applied research and development facility located on the campus of Northampton Community College in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. ETAC helps manufacturing companies of all kinds increase production, improve energy efficiency, and achieve and maintain environmental compliance by introducing new technologies and production methods that can help companies achieve these results. ETAC is one of the few facilities in the world that has such a wide range of heating, coating, curing and drying technologies, offering state-of-the-art equipment that includes convection heating, infrared, ultraviolet, electric induction, microwave, radio frequency, electron beam and accelerated environmental testing. ETAC also conducts materials characterization and performance and environmental testing.

ETAC can provide customized hands-on training to demonstrate how a new technology can be integrated into an existing manufacturing process. ETAC also offers distance-learning courses through Northampton Community College in energy efficiency assessment, which can be applied toward a specialized diploma in industrial energy efficiency.

In addition, ETAC conducts energy, process and environmental assessments to help companies reduce energy costs, improve productivity and reduce waste and rework, as well as reduce environmental costs and impacts.

All of the services provided by ETAC are confidential.
