Michael J. Chapman, Global Product Manager Catalytic IR at Heraeus Noblelight America LLC

Michael Chapman founded Vulcan Catalytic Systems in 1990 for applications in the plastics industry, both thermoset and thermoforming. This later progressed into the finishing industry where the catalytic heaters that power the Vulcan ovens are used for drying, gelling and curing powder on metal substrates, as well as heat sensitive substrates such as plastics, MDF, and other engineered wood products. In June of 2014, Vulcan was acquired by Heraeus Noblelight. The acquisition expands the process heating portfolio from Heraeus Noblelight to include both gas and electric heating systems for industrial applications. The acquisition also provides greater resources to pursue the metal finishing industry and developing markets for low temperature curing powders.
Chapman was educated in the UK, graduating in ship science studies, and has a number of patents in the process heating industry.
