The IHEA Induction Seminar is a half day seminar which allows attendees to learn about the basics of induction technology and how the electrically powered induction technology can create heat in parts, up to and including melting metals. The seminar will also focus on the many possible applications for the induction technology in manufacturing processes. Speakers are IHEA members from induction company OEMs and leaders in the induction industry. If you are using induction and want to get an update on the latest and greatest, or if you are considering using induction for your operations, then this will be a great seminar for you and your team.

Justin Kase, Ambrell
Justin spent nearly six years as an Applications Engineer in Ambrell’s Applications Laboratory. There, he worked with customers parts, learned their processes, and designed induction heating solutions that met their unique process requirements. He also travelled globally to perform equipment installations at customer sites. He has since spent nearly four years as a Regional Sales Manager with Ambrell supporting the southeastern United States. Justin has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Alfred State. 

Ryan Neiss, Taylor-Winfield Technologies, Inc.
Ryan is an application engineer for the induction heating group at Taylor-Winfield Technologies, Inc. His group is responsible for capital equipment sales, and he deals with various applications daily, requiring him to draw from 15 years of experience in the induction heating field. In 2015 Ryan received his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification which enables an understanding and validity of quality requirements and equipment performance. Previous experience includes 10 years as a Mechanical Engineer for a well-respected induction heating company, as well as 3 years as a design engineer while attending college in the transformer switch industry. Graduating Cum Laude from Kent State University with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology, Ryan is current IHEA Board member, and active member of ASM.

Mike Stowe, Advanced Energy
Mike is a Senior Energy Engineer on Advanced Energy's Energy Engineering team and focuses on process heating and energy efficiency in manufacturing plants. He has significant experience in the manufacturing industry serving in various roles as design engineer, production manager, plant engineer, and facilities engineer over the past 27 years. He has extensive experience with heat treating, induction hardening, brazing, die casting, plastic injection molding, machining, and all types of plant facility and infrastructure systems. Mike works with utilities, process heating equipment vendors, and manufacturing plants to find the best technical and energy efficient solutions for industrial processes. Mike has a B.S. of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology attended U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School and Submarine Officer Training.

Baskar Vairamohan, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
Baskar Vairamohan is a Senior Technical Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).  Mr. Vairamohan has a decade of laboratory and field experience in testing, monitoring, evaluation and application of end-use technologies. He is leading the research on industrial technologies within the EPRI’s program “Electrification for customer productivity”. He is responsible for managing industrial energy efficiency projects related to process heating, motors, pumps and drives, advanced manufacturing technologies and additive manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing. He is part of the core EPRI team that conducts industrial energy and power quality assessments. He also oversees the 80 PLUS® related computer, server, storage and industrial power supply testing.  Mr. Vairamohan has co-authored several industry relevant research papers that were published in technical journals and conferences.  Prior to working at EPRI, Mr. Vairamohan worked as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions in India. Mr. Vairamohan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Anna University (India) and Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) as well as registered professional engineer (P.E.) in the state of TN.

IHEA’s Induction, Combustion, and Safety Seminars are holding a joint Tabletop Exhibition & Reception on Tuesday, September 19 at the Westin Poinsett in Greenville, SC. Attendees of each seminar are invited to meet with representatives from companies offering products and services for the heat processing industry. In addition to the tabletop exhibits, a networking reception with hors d’ouvres and drinks will allow attendees to meet speakers and exhibitors and further discuss concepts learned during the seminars.

Attendees can win an Amazon FireStick for attending the Tabletop Exhibition (must be present to win).

The seminar is being held at the Westin Poinsett in Greenville, SC.  IHEA has reserved a block of rooms at the Westin Pointsett at the special group rate of $189/night plus tax. Reservations must be made by August 28, 2017 in order to secure the group rate.

Registration fee includes:  presentations, seminar materials and handouts; a flash drive with the seminar presentations pre-loaded; refreshment breaks and reception on Tuesday.  Upon completion of the course, seminar attendees will be issued a certificate documenting 4 Professional Development Hours PDH).
