Of course, there is not the one “European Approach” but there are some differences which lead to different approaches. Europe is largely dependent on energy imports, especially if it is no longer accepted to burn coal for generating electricity. Switching to renewable energy is a widely accepted path for the future, including electricity and hydrogen. Recently, ammonia is also considered more. As carbon free fuel which is easier to transport over long distances, when there is no pipeline, compared to hydrogen. Energy flexibility and efficiency are also a large part of the European agenda. First green steel projects started and green steel heat treating will follow.
