Explosions and fires in industrial heating systems can result in injury or loss of life, and loss of property and production. Understanding the proper use of National Standards governing the compliant design and operation of ovens & furnaces is essential for everyone involved with this type of equipment.

This seminar is designed for individuals involved in the design, manufacture, service or operation of ovens, furnaces, kilns, dryers, thermal oxidizers and a wide range of industrial applications. It is intended to help the attendee become better acquainted with the NFPA 86 - Standard for Ovens & Furnaces.

The Safety Standards & Codes Seminar provides a comprehensive review on the 2023 edition of NFPA 86 including updated requirements for:

  • Classes A, B, & C Furnaces
  • PLC Based Burner Management System
  • Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, Inspection & Testing
  • Burner Management Systems
  • Safety Shutoff Valves
  • Thermal Oxidizers
  • Fuel Piping, Purging and Commissioning
  • Hydrogen Introduction

Seminar speakers have a firsthand working knowledge in the development of NFPA 86 and will discuss changes in the 2023 NFPA 86 Standard for Ovens & Furnaces. Learn about these important standard changes and how they affect your operations from members of the NFPA 86 Technical Committee who are directly involved with the maintenance of this Standard. Airport
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is the closest major airport to the seminar venue. It is about 20 minutes away. From the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, follow signs to I-85 North. Take the I-85 North exit (approximately 12.5 miles). Take the Harris Blvd. West Exit 45B (0.2 miles) and merge onto West W.T. Harris Bvd. (0.2 miles). EPRI Charlotte is on the right at the 3rd light (0.5 miles).
